JRD Tata, also known as Jehangir Ratanji Dadabhoy Tata, was a prominent Indian industrialist and philanthropist who founded several companies.


Here are some of the companies founded by JRD Tata:


Tata Airlines (now known as Air India): JRD Tata founded Tata Airlines in 1932, which was later renamed Air India. It was India's first airline and played a significant role in the development of the Indian aviation industry.


Tata Steel: JRD Tata was instrumental in the establishment and growth of Tata Steel, which is now one of the largest steel producers in the world. The company was founded in 1907 as the Tata Iron and Steel Company.


Tata Motors: JRD Tata also played a key role in the establishment of Tata Motors, which is now one of India's largest automobile manufacturers. The company was founded in 1945 as Tata Engineering and Locomotive Company (TELCO).


Tata Chemicals: JRD Tata founded Tata Chemicals in 1939, which is now one of the world's leading manufacturers of soda ash and other chemicals.


Tata Consultancy Services (TCS): Although JRD Tata did not directly establish TCS, he played a key role in the establishment of Tata Sons, the holding company of the Tata Group, which in turn founded TCS in 1968. TCS is now one of the largest IT services companies in the world.


JRD Tata's entrepreneurial spirit and vision played a significant role in the development of several of India's leading companies and contributed to the growth and prosperity of the Indian economy.


Fakir Chand Kohli-


FAKIR CHAND KOHLI

Fakir Chand Kohli (1924-2020) was an Indian engineer and businessman who is often referred to as the "father of the Indian IT industry." He was the founder and first CEO of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), which is now one of the largest IT services companies in the world.


Kohli was born in Peshawar, British India (now Pakistan) in 1924. He studied electrical engineering at the Government College of Lahore (now in Pakistan) and later received a master's degree in electrical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in the United States.


In 1969, Kohli was hired by Tata Sons, the holding company of the Tata Group, to set up TCS. Under his leadership, TCS became the first Indian software company to receive an SEI CMM Level 5 certification, which is the highest level of quality certification awarded by the Software Engineering Institute. They were also involved in the establishment of several other companies, including Tata Elxsi, which provides product design and engineering services, and Tata Technologies, which provides engineering and product development services.


Kohli was widely recognized for his contributions to the Indian IT industry and was awarded several honors, including the Padma Bhushan, one of India's highest civilian awards. He passed away on November 26, 2020, at the age of 96.
