redBus Business Model-

redbus

redBus was founded in 2006 by Phanindra Sama, Sudhakar Pasupunuri, and Charan Padmaraju. The idea of the red bus comes in 2005 When Phanindra had to go from Bangalore to Hyderabad for a Diwali vacation, but he could not get the bus tickets. The founder saw a lot of inefficiencies in bus ticket booking like long lines at the bus station. These gaps led him to create a platform that would make it easier for people to book bus tickets online.

The technology could solve this problem and all the founders started focusing more on it. Phanindra was always fascinated by the VIRGIN GROUP RED COLOUR and named his business to the point and suitable to understand. redBus was launched in August 2006, too with only two bus operators, and became very famous in a very short time. Redbus has given a platform to all the bus operators in India to sell tickets online. It partners with all the bus operators to cover a wider area for travel.
